University of Louisville graduate Zach Harting has spent much of his life in a pool. It paid off this summer when he competed in the Summer Olympics in Tokyo. It paid off when he competed in the Tokyo Summer Olympics this summer.

“I wouldn’t say the experience of my life because we hope that we can return and repeat that,” said Harting. “That’s what I’ve trained for. I’ve worked my whole life and really centered my life on this path and around this goal and dream of myself being able to do this.”

Harting was introduced to many around the world as he qualified for Team USA in Olympic swimming. But whoever follows Harting on social media may not only know him as a swimmer.

He’s a pretty good cook too.

“You can start at the basic level and slowly integrate different things,” said Harting. “And then you can become a good cook and cook your own good food.”

Harting hosts “Cooking with Zach,” a show that he publishes on his Instagram.

“I kind of used it and developed it further to show how difficult it is to cook,” said Harting.

Harting realized that he liked to cook during his studies.

“I know what I’m putting into my body,” said Harting. “I know how much sausage I put in my breakfast. And I just know what’s inside.
