Australia’s highest paid fitness influencer Kayla Itsines shared her very “unconventional” breakfast – and revealed why it’s the ideal fuel for a busy morning of workout and exercise.

The 30-year-old from Adelaide likes to make two toasted breads in the morning, but she doesn’t top them with butter, avocado or eggs, but spread the Greek dip taramasalata on the toast.

Kayla then finishes her breakfast dish with some kalamata olives, tomatoes with basil, olive oil, salt, oregano, anchovies, and cabana meat.

Kayla posted on Instagram: “I recently shared my breakfast on my Instagram story and had so many questions about my very unusual breakfast.

To clear it up for everyone, that’s exactly what this delicious plate is made of!

“I have two toasts with olive oil, tomatoes with basil (salt and oregano), taramasalata (Greek dip) and kalamata olives.

“I also added some cooked cabana pieces. And then I have to have my anchovies! Anchovies may be a slightly different addition to breakfast, but I love them! ‘

Finally, Kayla said she always had a Greek coffee to start her day.

A Greek coffee is a strong coffee that is served with foam at the top (kaimaki) and coffee grounds at the bottom of the cup.

It is a type of coffee that is made from very finely ground beans without filtering.

For the fitness star, the wholemeal toast provides slowly released carbohydrates, while the anchovies are loaded with proteins and the olive oil ensures healthy fats in their morning meal.
