Galveston Island Humane Society Pets of the Week | lifestyle

The Galveston Island Humane Society’s Pets of the Week are Mary and Buffy.

Meet our shining star of the week, Miss Mary. Mary is a beautiful black German Shepherd, around 4 years old. She was handed over when her family had to move and could not take her away.

Mary is playful, loving, charming, and sweet, and she loved the children she lived with. Mary will steal a kiss from you at every opportunity. It’s soft and fluffy and will make a great beast. She also appears to be house trained and takes care of her manners.

Buffy is a beautiful 1 1/2 year old gray tabby with super soft fur. She recently had three babies (although she is still practically a kitten herself). At first she found it difficult to get used to motherhood, but eventually she got the hang of it and became a great mom.

She even adopted an orphaned kitten and raised it as one of her own. Now her babies are finally big and strong enough to find a home of their own, and Buffy is ready to finally enjoy her youth to the fullest. All she wants is a family of her own giving her the love and attention she deserves.

All cats and kittens cost $ 25 all summer long.

Make a note of the appointment! Our annual Paws Gala is on September 25th. Visit to see our adoptable animals, upcoming events, and purchase tickets to our gala. All adoptions include castration or neutering, a microchip, and current vaccinations.

These featured pets have an adoption sponsor who pays the $ 25 adoption fee for that week only.
