The cannabis craze is real! Many people in the US have made the most of marijuana legalization and this has certainly resulted in an increase in its use.

However, we are not too surprised by the overwhelming response, it has opened some doors for cannabis lovers. While some sell their products in pharmacies and cafes, others have a different approach in mind. Many consumers want to know how to incorporate their CBD into their meals.

Are you also trying to mix your cooking skills with cannabis? That’s what we’re on board for! Before you get into that, though, we’d like to share a few tips with you.

Do not heat CBD oil above 295 degrees:

Decarboxylate is the process of activating CBD by exposing it to a high temperature of about 295 degrees F (146 degrees Celsius) for about 30 to 60 minutes. All you have to do is line your baking sheet with parchment paper, separate the flowers from the rest of the plant, cut them into small pieces, and spread them over the mold.

If you heat a cannabinoid over high heat, it will lose its effectiveness and purpose. Cannabis should never be boiled over direct heat. However, if you want to incorporate it into your meals, you can drizzle it over cooked food as a topping. If the dish you’re cooking has a sauce in it, let it cool and add CBD to your liking. For baked dishes, you can mix a few drops of oil into the frosting before you round off your dessert.

Mix high fat CBD:

It has been found that CBD oil added to a high fat content performs much better. This can include things like coconut oil, butter, and even olive oil. The higher the fat content, the more likely it is that you can increase bioavailability almost 4 to 5 times. The best way is to infuse CBD into ghee or butter of any kind and cook it over very low heat. This prevents the CBD from burning or evaporating while allowing your high fat product to deeply infuse. After you’ve cooked CBD long enough, you can strain off the remains of the leaves. You can now use your butter or oil and combine it with your favorite dishes.

CBD dosage:

We recommend adding CBD oil to each serving separately. This way you can keep an eye on your intake. Also, the heat used to reheat food is likely to affect the effectiveness of CBD and destroy the active fragments of CBD.

Inclusion of CBD in baked foods:

If you want to prepare a CBD fortified meal for yourself or for your friends, we have some tips for you. You can add a few drops of CBD to a mix of no-bake cookies or even fudge. Only do this after you’ve taken your batter off the heat. For other things like cakes and cupcakes, you can work CBD into the frosting and apply an even layer to your baked goods.

Save your inventory:

Now that CBD is openly available in stores, we recommend that instead of making your own – although it can be a pretty incredible DIY project – you should just buy CBD-infused olive oil. That way, you’ll know exactly how much of it to use. Since it is made by professionals, you can be sure that the dosage is ideal and less likely to screw it up. It can also be a lot cheaper.

Be patient:

In contrast to THC, CBD takes a little longer to work. You can expect the effects to be more noticeable after the first 60 minutes. The high lasts about seven to eight hours and can vary from person to person. The peak of the high is likely to be reached after the first three hours. This is how the process normally works when consuming CBD directly. However, the effects may take a little longer than mixing it with food.

Be careful with what you consume CBD with:

Although many people believe it is a myth and some think it could be an exciting experiment, others advise against consuming CBD with alcohol. While it may not do much harm, it is better to play it safe. If you are serving food enriched with CBD with alcohol, make sure you are not driving a car. It can be dangerous not only for you, but also for all passengers for whom you are responsible. When you finally serve food enriched with CBD to family and friends, let them know and give them the exact dosage so they can proceed with their meal accordingly. As mentioned earlier, CBD can have different effects from person to person, so it would be the responsible thing to let your guests know.

Now that you have all the information to get started, we hope you can start cooking soon! Unless you’re a great cook, you can add CBD oil as a topping to any of your dishes as it doesn’t require too much cooking at first. If you don’t want to mix it with your food then add it to your tea, smoothie, or even fresh cocktails!
